Book Review

The Girls Next Door (Detective Eden Berrisford, #1)The Girls Next Door by Mel Sherratt

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I purchased Mel Sherratt’s “Girl Next Door” after winning a copy of her new book “Don’t Turn Around” and wanted to start the series at the beginning.

The “Girl Next Door” is a multi layed story that keeps you reading to the very last page so you can find out what happens to everyone involved. Each person’s story is entwined with one another. You think you have figured it out but them wham comes the shock that it is not all that it seems. At times in the story I felt like I was Eden the main character of this series trying to figure out what was happening through her eyes.

The main focus of this book is Eden’s family in particular her sister and her daughters, though we do learn some of Eden’s back story I suspect that this will come in future books and look forward to learning more about the other characters, I do hope that Eden’s family members don’t continue to be the centre of the story but only time will tell.

I really enjoyed this book and will be recommending it to friends and work colleagues and very much looking forward to reading “Don’t turn around”
