Flash Fiction – In Hiding

In Hiding

I woke suddenly as I heard a crash coming from somewhere, I was scared, alone and I couldn’t see anything but darkness. I began to shake as I pulled the covers up toward my chin,  frozen with fear was this end had someone let slip where I was? maybe if I stayed very still curled in a ball and held my breath I’d be safe.

As the sun began to rise I started to wonder,

creeping from hiding place,

I felt so stiff from being curled up so tight maybe if I just looked out of the window…
