So here we are again…

Book two is pretty much ready to go, I have a title and have seen cover designs, book  two edits have also been harder so god help me with book three…

Started to become very disheartened with it all tbf, I don’t think I care anymore. 😦 So how am I expected to write / finish book three I will never know.

My health has also been pretty shite,  the headaches are back with reverence! and the everyday toll of real life has been difficult….

Sorry I am not very positive about everything….

Blogging is often more than just sharing stories. It’s often the start of special friendships and relationships. Have you made any friends through the blogosphere?

I have made some friends from blogging but alot of those have been crossed over from social media fellow author Lucy Mitchell and Lesley Budge to name a few.

Jen Garner tries her best to be ‘wife and mother of the year’. She helps organise school plays and accompanies her husband to company dinners, all with a big smile on her face.
But Jen has started to receive strange gifts in the post … first flowers, then a sympathy card.
It could just be a joke; that’s what she tells herself. But then the final ‘gift’ arrives, and Jen has to question why somebody is so intent on shattering her life into pieces …

I really do not understand how the months are going so quick! I missed last month so I had better write something for this month. As I don’t want to lose my top 100 spot.

So I am currently working on my second round of edits! I have also been promoted at work, so all in all everything is good!

I have managed to also get on some what with book 3, I have changed my position for writing, so I have been sat in bed with the laptop which has kinda worked! Also put it all back on scrivener as it seems easier to find things using that compared to word!

My simple answer to the montly question is no, so there probably no point me posting about it…

I hope everyone is doing okay 🙂

So here we are again…

I am hopeful for my edits back this week for book two, which might see my excited for book three again, which I don’t even know when I last wrote any of that!

Things are a foot in my day job so hopeful for a promotion, but I have been burned before so no point thinking or talking about that.

Pretty boring here just plodding on waiting for the excitement to start again!

When you think of the term working writer, what does that look like to you? What do you think it is supposed to look like? Do you see yourself as a working writer or aspiring or hobbyist, and if latter two, what does that look like?

I would say a working writer is someone who works in writing full time and gets paid for it such as a journalist and possibly some of the well known authors. I want to say someone who writes and gets paid for it, but then again I get paid royalties from my book. But I don’t see myself as a writer I don’t even know which category I would put myself in. Maybe I am a hobbyist? I am inspired to write novels and have written two and a half!!!

I really don’t know how month’s go round so fast, my writing has been sadly lacking I just can’t seem to get into book three! Though I did find out today that my next book is due in January and my edits are pending! I don’t like this but when I know my editor is reading my work and I don’t know what she or the tasting panel have thought of it!

I had booted up Scrivener to do some writing tonight but I just can’t be arsed. There is so much going on at the moment, Melanie returns to school tomorrow, Alex starts secondary school on Friday, a relative has had a cancer dig and has had said lump removed. Part of me feels like I am on a collision course with kerboom!

I keep thinking about scraping my idea for book three and maybe working on my idea for book four, but I don’t have a clue about that one either.

To add to my problems wordpress has changed!

So this months questions…

If you could choose one author, living or dead, to be your beta partner, who would it be and why?

There are so many authors out there i’d love to write with, I think Rebecca Bradley would be a good one as she already writes nottingham crime. I love Angela Clarke and C L Taylor‘s work but both now work in different genres. I’d love to have someone who is a best seller, so they could go, egg me on and make sure my writing is up to the standards of best seller!  I am wondering who I can get to beta read my work in general as I know I rely on my SIL and aunty at the moment so…

Anyways enough of my manic ways xx

So here we are August and they say that time flies when you are having fun… So we went on holiday last week which was nice, we stayed in the New Forest and had to get used to random horses, donkeys, cows and goats being in the middle of the road, how the people who live their cope. To the point that the horses seemed to always be lined up at certain places! The wife reckoned it was people feeding them!!

More book news.. It is now out in audio which is the most amazing thing ever! So those of you who have Audible it’s read by Helen Keeley. It is also on sale as audio via amazon…

Endless fun with book three, being married to a fire fighter doesn’t help, when you are telling them about the plot and he tells you that wouldn’t happen! EPIC FAIL!

So this months questions…

“Although I have written a short story collection, the form found me and not the other way around. Don’t write short stories, novels or poems. Just write your truth and your stories will mold into the shapes they need to be.”

Have you ever written a piece that became a form, or even a genre, you hadn’t planned on writing in? Or do you choose a form/genre in advance?

In my novel writing I think will always be crime and murder, I know when I do flash fiction I don’t really stick to a genre and it tends to be where ever the photo takes me.

I know when I first started writing I tried to write a sex scene and it wasn’t sexy at all, but I wanted to write it how it was and not sexy, so since my sex scenes have been closed door and there are quite a few of them in book 2!

Hope everyone is okay xx

So here we are July, my book was released into the world in June and I think it’s been well received!!!???

Alot of feeling insecure! What they are saying about my book, as in how good and how twisty it is! Then there is the whole I had a lot of help with book 1, so now I have submitted book 2 are they going to look at it and go it’s shit… (Apparently book 2 has been listed which is good)

I just don’t understand how it can be that good!

So I am also writing book three, which I am over thinking, mostly how did the bad guy get the explosives into the venue they blew up. I am yet to think of a motive!!!! But seeing as I don’t plan I am currently running a police investigation with post-its.

Time for the question of the month:

There have been many industry changes in the last decade, so what are some changes you would like to see happen in the next decade?

I know there are so many other contributing factors, but it would be nice if the submission process could be sped up…

It would also be nice if there wasn’t one company that had such a huge control of the market.

Anyways, I’ve added my new book details in below just in case..

So it happened my cover reveal for my debut novel Perfect Lie and to add to the craziness of it all it’s being released on the 16th! which is like less than two weeks away! So other than wanting to run round screaming PANIC, I am bit like wtf am I supposed to be doing…

Cover reveal day was insane as my publisher also had a online festival so I was trying to keep up with my part in that!

Interview with three Ruby Newbies

Reading from my novel Perfect Lie

and if you go on the Kobo link you can even read the beginning!

It has been crazy as I now have an author bio… I already felt sic enough when I saw that you could read the beginning on Kobo, then someone told me they were reading a real live copy and I really wanted to be sic. I am like but i’m a 35 year old that is sitting here pretty much freaking out!

Nevermind the Goodreads profile

Also nevermind the fact i’m trying to get a blog tour of some kind sorted… easier said then done.

Then comes people asking for signed paperbacks! Which aren’t in existence yet! And the audio which is going to follow that I am hoping I can go and watch!!! This is all pretty much feel a bit to real! But then i’m also like apart of family and friends that say they have pre ordered who else is going to read it? Ruby Lit must thing it’s sellable???

I feel I should be less me, me, me I’m sorry… maybe I should try and answer this months question…

Writers have secrets! What are one or two of yours, something readers would never know from your work?

erm

1) I was once knocked off my bike and received a massive knock round the head and a brain haemorrhage.

2) I was on the tv programme called room raiders which used to be on trouble tv…

I hope everyone is okay… I miss going to work, I miss my tuesdays and thursdays with no work, I miss commuting and the crazy lady who recites from her bible and won’t have a conversation about it.

So life is pretty much the same as last month… though I do have a relase date for my book! June 24th or somewhere around there!

The cover art is being made and I have discovered asking other authors to do quotes for me isn’t as easy as I thought!

No movement on book three.. and book two is awaiting to be submitted.

Life is still wfh, loom banding, educating to little people and trying to keep a grip on reality!

So this months question…

Do you have any rituals that you use when you need help getting into the ZONE? Care to share?

MUSIC mainly Jimmy Eat World, chocolate also helps.. renewing bonds at work also strangely inspires me, but things are a little different at the moment so not so much inspired.

Just think this time next month i’ll have a cover, and order details and OMG we’ve nearly made it and got a book published xxx

Hope everyone else is doing okay xxx

Stay safe…

How things are in my world…

Working from home,

Got two kids home schooling (HA)

Hubby who is working between the fire station and UPS..

My son has shared his cough around the house so we are all coughing, but no other symptoms… So it’s just a cough and a bit of snot…

I’ve been thinking alot about book 3, book 2 is currently being read by my aunty and SIL. Struggle to find other beta readers….

With book 3 I have been too tied up with over thinking about my DIs health journey, where the explosives need to be placed and that’s book 3…

“When it happened I was lying on a hospital bed waiting for a needle to be inserted into my spine”

“When it happened I was meeting my new team and waiting for my new boss to arrive.”

“When it happened I was out buying my essentials.”

“When it happened…”
